Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Office of Faculty Affairs seeks a graduate assistant who would work on various projects and administrative tasks assigned by office personnel, reporting to the Manager. Responsibilities will include:
- composing, drafting, proofing, and editing written materials;
- database maintenance and updating;
- conducting research on best practices;
- gathering data for special projects;
- compiling and distributing office communications and correspondence;
- organizing meetings;
- facilitating online meetings and events; and
- assisting with other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be enrolled in a Graduate Program at the University of Maryland.

An exceptional candidate will be a detail-oriented, proactive self-starter, have good organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and the capacity to work collaboratively as well as independently. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, Adobe Acrobat, and database experience is required.

Preferences:

Previous administrative experience and proficiency with project management or planning are preferred. Individuals from the iSchool and the College of Education, particularly in doctoral programs, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Additional Information:

This is a 12-month position, reporting to the Manager of the Office of Faculty Affairs, available as soon as possible.
