Locust Street Resource Center

We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic director to guide Locust Street Resource Center in its mission to provide exceptional mental health services to six counties in Illinois. Join a small, independent clinic where you can make a direct difference in the lives of many. You’ll have the autonomy, working with a very collaborative board, to build upon the strength of the agency’s 50-year history, lead your way and implement new options for exceptional client care.

Locust Street Resource Center provides a variety of programs from its headquarters location in Carlinville, IL. You’ll join a friendly, welcoming staff and a highly supportive board of directors. The successful candidate must live or relocate to within commutable distance of our location in Carlinville, IL.

Position Summary

Lead the agency in its mission to provide stellar mental health services to the six counties served. Responsible for ensuring operational excellence in a collaborative work setting, overseeing all functions of the agency. Provide strong, inspiring leadership.

Responsibilities of the Position

  • Lead the agency to execute the center’s mission of providing exceptional mental health services
  • Plan and direct operations of the agency based upon policies and regulatory standards
  • Along with the board, develop a strategy for the agency’s future and execute on that strategy; set annual goals for the agency and communicate/develop buy-in from the staff to achieve these goals
  • Oversee the performance of all programs and initiatives to ensure that goals are met; along with applicable personnel, identify real/potential issues affecting the agency and develop a plan to address
  • Analyze, recommend, and support practices seeking to improve the agency’s performance in quality measures and service delivery
  • Advance the client experience
  • Manage professional and administrative staff; coach, guide and mentor
  • Manage the organization’s financial health; coordinate with the board and the finance committee to identify and rectify issues; prepare and comply with the annual budget
  • Network with community leaders and providers to advance the agency and related community services; help to develop a strong peer network with public health, law enforcement, the local schools and hospital and the ministerial association
  • Develop a marketing plan to raise awareness of the agency’s purpose and mission
  • Lead grant-funding initiatives, to include researching applicable grants, applying and partnering with community organizations if applicable
  • Build strong relationship with all stakeholders, and look for all opportunities to market and amplify Locust Street and its mission
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory and accrediting policies
  • Inspire and motivate the team to fully embrace the agency’s mission and work collaboratively to achieve the annual goals

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • The successful candidate has background in non-profit, social services, or patient care management, and a Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field
  • Requires 3-5 years of experience in a similar agency, and a minimum of 2 years in a management capacity
  • Proven skills in strategic business development
  • Ability to communicate well with people; must be approachable and open to new ideas
  • Ability to network with community leaders to raise awareness of the agency and advance the agency’s reputation and service delivery
  • Passion for helping people and a champion for mental health services

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
