The Stono Institute for Freedom, Justice and Security is an African-American led racial justice orientated human rights non-profit organization. We are seeking a talented and proficient Executive Assistant. As an Executive Assistant you will work directly with the President of Stono Institute for Freedom, Justice, and Security to support all aspects of his daily business and related social entrepreneurship endeavors. The EA will help manage operations, streamline efficiency and market our services by prioritizing emails and phone calls, gathering documents and prepare logistics for meetings and coordinating travel arrangements. The EA will draft, review and send communications, organize files, answer and respond to phone calls, communicate messages and information to the executive. Additionally, the EA will lead the office in administrative work and any additional request, as needed. This positions entails daily briefing on tasks, briefings on current news relating to the organization, related updates on the organizations affairs. The EA must have excellent research, writing and computer skills. It's pertinent that you are versatile and flexible in interpersonal communication skills and have a passion for racial justice.
The dynamic nature of this role requires the ideal candidate to have exemplary time management and organizational skills and the ability to identify and anticipate the President's needs for the organization. To perform this job successfully, the individual is expected to handle highly sensitive and confidential financial, legal, personnel and institutional information while exercising professionalism and discretion. Security Clearance will be required*

Responsibilities
- Work directly with the President and CEO to support all aspects of his daily work routine.
- Coordinate work with other SIFJS staff as needed; play a key role in the coordination of staff efforts both within and outside the department.
- Handle printing, faxing/scanning, mail/overnight packages, copying, filing, and email/messages.
- Maintain e-mail and other address directories.
- Maintain confidential and sensitive information.
- Attend meetings and take notes of discussion; prepare the initial draft of minutes and summaries.
- Provide administrative assistance in writing and editing emails, drafting memos, and preparing communications on the Executive’s behalf.
- Organize meetings, scheduling, reminders, and small corporate events.
- Answer phone calls in a polite and professional manner.
- Welcome visitors and identify the purpose of their visit before directing them to the appropriate department.
- Manage the executive’s calendar.
- Other additional and/or alternative duties as assigned from time to time, including supporting other departments or Executives as needed.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
