Human Resources Generalist
Description of Position
The Human Resources (HR) Generalist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping to plan and administer important functions, such as key HR and business initiatives in the areas of recruitment, new employee onboarding, performance management and training, and enforcing company policies and practices.
The HR Generalist position is a full-time, 12-month, non-exempt position and reports directly to the Director of Human Resources.
Essential Functions
- Coordinates recruitment, onboarding and hiring processes for all position vacancies.
- Posts job announcements and provides supervisors with support, tools and training throughout the process.
- Maintains complete electronic employee personnel files, records and other documentation for employees, including processing new employees, forms for employment status changes and maintaining timely and accurate files.
- Coordinates pre-employment paperwork and processes.
- Provides coaching and counsel to managers regarding performance management and adherence to HR processes and procedures.
- Assists with annual HR events including open enrollment, performance evaluations, annual compensation directives, and health and wellness fairs as needed.
- Interprets, explains and assists employees with HR policies and regulations and delivers employee training and development as needed.
- Analyzes HR trends, identifies opportunities for improvement and proposes solutions.
- Conducts annual internal HR Audits, specifically EEO-1 and I-9 audits.
- Initiates and responds to inquiries concerning pay, benefits, staffing, and general human resources issues/concerns.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field of study
- Minimum four (4) years of work experience in human resources, customer service, administration.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state employment laws.
- Proficient knowledge of HRIS systems and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to obtain a PHR/SHRM-CP certification
- Intermediate skills in Excel
Compensation
Salary will be determined by the educational background and experience of each applicant and will be discussed with individual candidates as they are invited to interview for this position.
