Summary:
The Operations Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the operational activities of the Akron Children’s Hospital Foundation. The position enhances the overall effectiveness of Foundation operations, ensuring quality, consistency and accuracy of fund and gift reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Manages the fund expense process in collaboration with hospital leaders and departments to ensure that expectations are met.
- Works closely with Foundation Development Officers to draft and finalize donor named funds documents.
- Serves as liaison between hospital leaders and the Foundation; executes and follows up on operational activities.
- Responsible for financial and other reporting for the Foundation in conjunction with the hospital finance partners.
- Responsible for accurate and compliant tax receipting and invoices to donor base.
- Must proactively benchmark and research upcoming industry trends with Woodmark Hospitals as well as other healthcare organizations.
- Other duties as required.
Other information:
Technical Expertise:
- Experience with donor database, preferably Raiser’s Edge and Blackbaud.
- Experience working with all levels within an organization is preferred.
- Impeccable detail to data entry, customer service, and follow through skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.
- Proficiency in Adobe Pro is preferred.
Education and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in development, business, marketing, or public relations. Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification: None.
- Years of experience: minimum of 3 years working in not-for-profit sector
