Prosper West is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The ideal candidate will have substantial management experience (preferably in nonprofit management) and a comprehensive understanding of economic development, fundraising, and nonprofit finance. They will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Prosper West's operations, serving as the primary liaison with governmental officials, community stakeholders, and funding partners. The President and CEO will work closely with the Board of Directors to implement strategic plans and ensure the organization's continued growth and impact in the Westside community of San Antonio.
Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership: Manage and oversee day-to-day operations of Prosper West, including personnel management, budget oversight, and program implementation.
2. Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for governmental officials, community groups, local businesses, and Westside residents. Foster relationships with elected officials, community partners, small businesses, neighborhood organizations, and private sector lenders.
3. Strategic Planning: Execute strategic plans approved by the Board of Directors and collaborate with staff to establish organizational goals that align with Prosper West's mission and vision.
4. Communication and Transparency: Maintain open and transparent communication with the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, staff, and stakeholders. Provide regular updates on organizational progress and achievements.
5. Financial Management: Oversee budget management and expenditure approval. Work with current and prospective funders to secure funding commitments and maintain a consistent revenue pipeline for operations and programs.
6. Community Partnerships: Identify and cultivate partnerships with universities, cultural groups, fellow nonprofit organizations, and other community stakeholders from the Westside to enhance Prosper West's impact and reach. It is important to have a strong understanding of the Westside and the community that Prosper West serves.
7. Media and Outreach: Oversee the management of all social media accounts and maintain partnerships with local print, radio, and television media outlets. Serve as a dedicated source of positive stories and information about Prosper West's work in the Westside community.
8. Professional Development: Identify opportunities for staff growth and development, including technical assistance and organizational capacity building.
Qualifications
1. Proven leadership experience, preferably in nonprofit management.
2. In-depth knowledge of economic development, fundraising, and nonprofit finance.
3. Experience working with the public sector, elected officials, community partnerships, small businesses, neighborhood organizations, and private sector lenders.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
5. Strong strategic planning and implementation abilities.
6. Fluency in Spanish is preferred, but not required.
7. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, Urban Planning, Public Administration or a related field is required. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
8. The Salary for the President/CEO will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. PWSA offers a generous benefits package.
