Essential Job Duties

The primary purpose of the position is to provide landscape services for Landscape
Construction Services. The Landscape Technician serves as a member of a landscape
crew providing high level management and aesthetic quality to the landscape on
campus within a designated campus zone. This position also assists with the annual and
perennial planting activities, mulching, weeding, debris removal, bed preparation,
pruning and sanitation. Additionally, the position may assist with turf related tasks such
as mowing, blowing, edging, trimming.

Minimum Experience/Education

  • High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work
  • Experience with spreading mulch, general landscape and grounds work
  • Operating landscaping equipment and use tools, such as: blowers, edger/trimmer, and mowers

Department Required Skills

  • Must wear work pants, gloves, and a work shirt
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather.
  • Ability to lift to 60 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation 

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

  • 6+ months of landscaping or some experience in the field for which you are applying is preferred.
