Job Profile Summary
Reporting to Associate Vice President of Student Success, the TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Grant Director will oversee one of the College’s federal TRIO SSS grants for one of the three main campuses. Provides leadership and administrative oversight of programming explicitly developed to serve and support TRIO SSS eligible students.
This position will interpret and articulate policies and procedures, develop and implement individualized professional development activities and events, maintain grant budget, and prepare all performance status reports to meet grant contract deliverables. Additionally, serves as the liaison between the projects, U.S. Department of Education, Broward College, and transfer universities.
Travel will be required.
This a temporary position which ends on August 31, 2025. The incumbent is subject to annual performance evaluations and contract renewal.
Minimum Education:
- Master’s degree in education administration, higher education, public administration, guidance counseling, or related field.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Minimum Experience/Training:
- Four years of experience in designing and managing educational programs for underserved or at-risk populations and three years of management experience.
- Previous TRIO, grant and fiscal management experience, program development, or academic support programs strongly preferred.
- Administrator experience at a large post-secondary educational institution, community college preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in recruiting new students and advising students.

Valid Florida Driver’s License required or, as a condition of continued employment, a Valid Florida Driver’s License within 30 days after being employed by the College.
Essential Functions:
- Daily - 20%: Develops and implements TRIO SSS program. Provides leadership and management for program outreach efforts to attract participants that meet program requirements (i.e. students with a disability, members of an ethnic minority group, low-income, or first-generation college student). Ensures compliance in accordance with TRIO SSS federal regulations and grant specifications.
- Daily - 10%: Responsible for people management of area including recommendation of staffing, hiring, termination, and discipline, setting performance standards, evaluating staff, and ensuring appropriate professional development and training in accordance with College policy and procedures. Ensures TRIO SSS staff provides college information (i.e., financial aid, financial literacy, tutoring, etc.) to program participants.
- Weekly - 10%: Prepares, monitors, and manages program budget to ensure compliance with U.S. Department of Education in accordance with College policy through the appropriate use of program funds.
- Weekly - 10%: Works closely with Broward UP (Unlimited Potential), high school counselors and staff, and Deans in identifying potential program participants.
- Weekly - 10%: Collaborates with the Dean of Students, Academic Dean, Advising, Student Outreach Services, and Associate Vice President of Institutional Accessibility to ensure effective and efficient functioning of program and to connect TRIO SSS students to services, resources, programs, and opportunities.
- Quarterly - 5%: Provides leadership and direction in planning, organizing, and implementing academic support activities that include instructional support as well as recreational, cultural, and social/cultural activities, and visits to four-year institutions.
- Weekly - 5%: Prepares and delivers reports, documentation, and related materials to inform Broward College leadership on project progress at regular intervals, both in written and oral communication forms. Manages and maintains timely grant reports to the US Department of Education. Recommends processes for improvements to Associate Vice President, Student Success.
- Quarterly - 5%: Attends conferences relevant to the program and keeps current with trends and developments. Make presentations to large groups as necessary.
- Weekly -10%: Collects, interprets, and articulates data on grant performance measures and if necessary, makes recommendations to College leadership for modifications of program offering. Oversees submission of annual performance report to meet performance objectives for the TRIO SSS grant.
- Quarterly - 10%: Serves as a member of the TRIO Advisory Committee. Serves as the liaison between the TRIO SSS program, the College/Campus, and transfer universities.
- Other - 5%: Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of FERPA, federal and state regulations applicable to grant
