Job Description

The Division of Management, Marketing, & Entrepreneurship in the College of Business at Governors State University is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Marketing beginning in August 2025.

The successful candidate will be academically qualified to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Marketing that may include courses such as marketing research, channel management, and marketing analytics.

We seek candidates with exceptional teaching skills, a strong interest in advising non-traditional and diverse student populations, and the ability or desire to teach high-quality remote or online courses. Candidates should demonstrate a collaborative approach to working with colleagues, an interest in curriculum development, and either evidence of or the potential for distinguished scholarship aligned with the mission of the college and AACSB standards for Scholarly Academic faculty. Additionally, candidates should show evidence of or potential for meaningful professional and university service.

Essential Responsibilities

 

  • Typical teaching load is 21 credit hours in an academic year.

  • Effective teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels (MBA) as well as providing service to the department, college, university, and community is expected.

  • Research and scholarship that meets AACSB standards is expected.

 

Required and Preferred Qualifications

 

 

Minimum Qualifications


Ph.D. or D.B.A. degree in Marketing earned by August 2025 from an AACSB-accredited business school, A.B.D. candidates in the final stages of completion will be considered.

Demonstrated competency in teaching undergraduate or graduate-level courses in Marketing.

Interest in developing and teaching online and hybrid courses.

Demonstrated record of making intellectual contributions in the Marketing discipline through scholarly publications, consistent with maintaining Scholarly Academic faculty status under accreditation standards.


Preferred Qualifications


Professional and/or managerial experience

Teaching experience or expertise in quantitative and managerial course, such as marketing research, channel management, statistics, and data analytics.

Experience teaching online courses.

Professional and/or teaching experience in multiple areas of the Marketing discipline.

Knowledge of AACSB accreditation requirements.
