About the Role
Join our leading research team at the STEM College's Centre for Optoelectronic Materials and Sensors as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant. In this role, you will contribute to innovative research initiatives in line with the University's research strategy. You'll have the opportunity to independently drive projects focused on the development of advanced materials and devices with diverse applications.
To be successful in this position, you'll meet the following Key Selection Criteria:
- Ability in the Synthesis of ultra-thin electronic and optically active materials and/or their hybrids using vapour deposition processes.
- Demonstrated ability in micro/nanofabrication of electronic and optical devices of various architectures.
- Electronic and optoelectronic device characterisation. Examples of devices include but not limited to field-effect transistors, photodetectors, or neuromorphic sensors.
- Experience in electron beam lithography (EBL) based fabrication will be highly regarded.
- Proven ability to undertake scientific research and development in research programs.
- Demonstrate ability to clearly communicate research results, concepts and knowledge.
- Demonstrated initiative in research and problem solving.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both as a member of a research team and independently when required, to meet project outcomes and milestones.
- Experience in co-supervising postgraduate by research students.
Qualifications
- Mandatory: PhD Qualification in the relevant discipline area.
- Preferred: Completion of the Essentials in Tertiary Teaching Practice program or equivalent (if the appointed candidate does not meet this requirement at time of appointment, they will be supported to complete this as a requirement to fulfil their probation).
