Associate Degree Nursing Instructor -Full Time

Job Description

Columbus Technical College seeks an individual to serve as a full-time instructor in our Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program. This position is responsible for the ADN program's classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction. This position will also require developing lesson plans, evaluating student progress in attaining goals and objectives, attending intradepartmental nursing meetings, staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences, and ensuring all safety and security requirements are met in training labs. Additional Duties include maintaining program certification requirements, preparing and maintaining all required documentation, and administrative reports. This position is full-time/exempt.

Note: This position will require physical ability to move about or stand for long periods; no restrictions or limitations on bending, stooping, reaching, and safely lifting up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities:

  • Instruct ADN program students in the lab, classroom, and clinical settings
  • Follow state standards in developing course outlines, goals, and objectives
  • Evaluate student’s progress in attaining goals and objectives
  • Request and maintain supplies and equipment
  • Develop teaching methods and maintain management procedures and documentation
  • Meet with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students
  • Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training areas
  • Respond promptly to administrative requests
  • Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts
  • Maintain program certification requirements as appropriate
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Effective written and oral communication
  • Keen observation, supervision, and evaluation skills
  • General Computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel)
  • Involvement in professional activities/organizations
  • Other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The candidate MUST possess a Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited higher education institution or have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and actively working towards earning a Master’s degree in Nursing.
  • MUST have three (3) or more years within the last seven (7) years of strong clinical experience in medical-surgical, acute patient care, and/or emergency or trauma conditions.
  • The candidate must possess a current Georgia or eNLC (enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact) Registered Nurse License and be in Good Standing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching experience in post-secondary education
