Position Summary & Responsibilities

The Indirect Services Procurement Leader provides Global Leadership for developing end-to-end category leadership such as category strategy development, maintaining key relationships within the business, and leading key supplier relationships. The position must shape, connect, and influence resources to deliver on key projects. The category scope includes (but may not be limited to) oversight of the sub-categories of Human Resources, Professional Services, Consulting, Financial Services, Information Technology and Telecommunications, Legal, etc., for National Resilience Inc. This spend is highly complex in nature and requires close collaboration with functional partners and Site Procurement Leads to implement. The Indirect Procurement Lead will also develop, direct, and implement procurement strategies and deliver against targets for financial performance, quality, service, and compliance.

This position leverages sourcing strategy best practices by developing and implementing optimal sourcing strategies and leading a supplier relationship management program with strategic providers in close collaboration with functional partners and site leaders to support Corporate Resilience procurement needs.

Goals will include development of category strategy for assigned categories of indirect spend, implementation of those strategies across the network, and delivery of cost saving goals as a percentage of overall spend and the following:

  • Category Strategies: Develop and execute global category strategies that optimize the supply base and delivers against our overall requirements at best value.

  • Strategic Sourcing: Execute sourcing initiatives and negotiate best-in-class strategic agreements for total costs of ownership, including payment terms, service level agreement, and other key commercial terms using should-cost models, RFPs, category/supplier insights, benchmarking, advanced analytics, and e-Sourcing tools.

  • TCO Reduction: Drive continued total cost of ownership (TCO) reductions through identifying, assessing, developing business cases, prioritizing initiatives, and executing initiatives focused on improving various value levers (e.g., demand management, sourcing, spec optimization, spec/supplier consolidation, RFX, etc.)

  • Contract Compliance Management: Develop key sourcing/contract policies and guidelines with executives and functional partners, and track/manage compliance.

  • Supplier Relationship & Performance Management: Segment suppliers (e.g., Strategic to Transactional) and develop strategies and plans to drive improved value with suppliers in each segment. Leverage category and supplier trends to proactively address potential issues and take advantage of potential opportunities. Manage the ongoing performance of our suppliers to achieve best-in-class results including setting objectives and service level agreements (SLAs), tracking and reporting KPI performance, supplier scorecards, and prioritizing and leading joint improvement efforts.

  • Supplier Partnerships: Create, evaluate, and establish a world class supply base. Partner closely with functional partners and the Resilience Site Procurement teams to develop, engage and lead supplier relationships that drive the greatest value in total cost effectiveness, supplier quality, enhanced service levels, risk management, sustainability, supplier diversity, and innovation.

  • External Partnerships: Partner with 3rd party subject matter experts to leverage functional and category benchmarking and best practices to understand industry category trends, as well as drive improved results, processes, standard practices, analytics, and tools.

  • Supply Risk Management: Proactively monitor and manage supply risk to ensure continuity of supply or service.

  • Inflation Management: Leverage market/commodity insights, inflation mitigation techniques, cost escalation/de-escalation agreements, etc. to forecast and secure market competitive pricing.

  • Supplier Innovation: Scout market for innovative suppliers; vendors with capabilities to deliver improved products and service offerings.

  • Corporate Social Responsibility: When applicable and consistent with Resilience values, support our CSR programs including supplier diversity and sustainable sourcing.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Significant experience in strategic sourcing, and category management with increasing leadership responsibilities and demonstrated cost savings

  • Proven ability to develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with business goals, deliver cost savings, and optimize supplier performance.

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex agreements with strategic suppliers, covering total cost of ownership, payment terms, service level agreements, and key commercial terms.

  • Ability to effectively track and manage suppliers and their performance and set expectations for improvement to drive value

  • Strong leadership skills with a collaborative approach to working with internal stakeholders across functions like IT, HR, Legal, and Finance. Ability to influence and drive initiatives in a matrixed environment.

  • Change management skills and self-awareness to take varying approaches with a dynamic set of stakeholders


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree

  • Experience in Bio/ Pharma, CDMO, or Med Device environment

Our target base pay hiring range for this position is $160,000.00 - $227,500.00 per year. Actual base pay is dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's geographical location, relevant experience, qualifications, skills and knowledge.
