Job Summary
The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) seeks a motivated and enthusiastic Research Administrator Intermediate to work closely and proactively with our faculty and senior staff to provide pre- and post-award administration. The successful candidate will enjoy research, financials, problem-solving, and being part of a team environment. We are a growing department and are looking for someone who wants to be an integral part of our growth. This position will report to the Research Administration Senior Manager.
PM&R's research enterprise currently has 73 active faculty, collaborating with 24 UM (University of Michigan) or Michigan Medicine Departments Schools or Centers. PM&R currently has 9 postdoctoral fellows, 4 graduate students, 56 research staff, a research administration working manager, 4 research administration staff, and 2 administrative support personnel. We have a very diverse research portfolio. Some of our current grants include adaptative sports and gaming, concussion prevention, women?s health for those with disabilities, and adaptative computer interfaces for communication. Total Department research expenditures last fiscal year were over six million dollars and rose 11.4% from the prior year. UM PM&R has a #4 NIH (National Institutes of Health) ranking of PM&R Departments across the country. Major sponsors include NIH (45%), NIDILRR (16%), Craig H Foundation (10%) PCORI (Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute) (5%), DOD (5%) and various others (19%).

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
