Human Resources Manager- Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County (HSVB)
POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resources Manager will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies and activities of the Human Resources (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s talent strategy. Oversee performance reviews and discover talented job candidates. Review employee data, investigate employee complaints, and manage the creation of new HR programs for implementation across the organization.
The HR Manager serves as a leader in the workplace by creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. You will help the organization achieve goals and strategies that improve our employees and help the organization function better. This position reports to the CEO.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
· Manage the recruitment and selection process
· Perform payroll duties
· Manage worker's comp process
· Oversee employee relations, including resolving issues and managing performance evaluations
· Ensure compliance with employment labor laws and regulations, including FMLA
· Implement and manage HR systems such as AlphaStaff
· Lead change management initiatives within the organization
· Drive process improvement efforts across HR functions
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
· Must be SHRM Certified or HRCI Certification required.
· 5+ years of successful HR experience in a nonprofit setting
· Strong understanding of human capital management principles
· Demonstrated experience in employee relations and conflict resolution
· Knowledge of employment labor laws and regulations
· Ability to conduct recruiting activities effectively
· Familiarity with FMLA regulations
· Experience in change management processes
· Skilled in process improvement methodologies
Salary: $65,000 - $70,000 annually
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time, as well as move and traverse within the shelter facility for extended periods of time, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must communicate, converse with, convey information to, express oneself, and exchange information with shelter staff and the general public.
