Job Description
Gogebic Community College is looking for enthusiastic candidates for seasonal work at Mt. Zion
Ski Hill. A variety of positions are available. The successful candidate should have an
appreciation of the outdoors, skiing and/or snowboarding, and enjoy working with the public.
The incumbent in this job is expected to assist the College in achieving its vision and mission.
Student focus, college service, and a willingness to assist as needed are expectations for all
employees.
This position will report to the Ski Hill Supervisor. The starting salary for this position is
$14.00/hour. There are no benefits associated with this position.
Open Positions and Duties:
• Retail Services & Ticket Counter
• Food & Beverage Cashier
• Lift Operator & Attendant
• Ski Equipment Rental Counter
• Ski / Snowboard Instructor
Ability To:
• Providing excellent customer service by interacting with guests in person and by phone.
• Operate a PC and related software for Point-of-Sale transactions.
• Taking orders, preparing food and drinks, and maintaining cleanliness.
• Operating lifts and communicating with guests in a a safe and efficient manner.
• Ensuring ski / snowboard equipment meets guests needs and maintaining equipment if
necessary.
• Provide ski / snowboard instruction in a safe and fun learning environment.
• Maintain effective communication and working relationships with guests and staff
members.
Knowledge of:
• General ski hill processes and prior experience a plus

regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outdoor conditions. The
