Doctoral Student Research Assistant
Job Description
Dr. Hsin-Ya Tang is seeking a motivated and highly organized Doctoral Student Research Assistant to support research activities on the development of a linguistic justice instrument. The ideal candidate will assist with ongoing research projects, contribute to data collection and analysis, and engage in scientific writing and dissemination. This position offers an excellent opportunity for graduate students to gain hands-on experience in linguistic diversity and to contribute to cutting-edge research while advancing their academic development.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with literature reviews and background research on relevant topics.
- Conduct experiments, simulations, or fieldwork as required by the research projects.
- Collect, organize, and analyze data using appropriate tools and software (e.g., Word, Excel, Qualtrics, SPSS).
- Prepare and maintain detailed research records, including experimental procedures, results, and observations.
- Contribute to the preparation of research publications, posters, and presentations.
- Help manage research projects, including scheduling, coordinating with team members, and ensuring timelines are met.
- Participate in biweekly research group meetings and provide updates on project progress.
- Communicate research findings and updates effectively to the principal investigator and team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
- Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current enrollment in a counseling doctoral program
- Previous research experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization.
- Experience with academic writing and manuscript preparation.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
