PROGRAM MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Remote Employment Type: Full-Time Hours/Per Week: 40 plus

Cayenne Wellness Center and Children’s Foundation (CWC) is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to improving health outcomes and decreasing mortality related to Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). Our mission is to increase the quality of life for individuals diagnosed with SCD in California by ensuring expert, unbiased, and comprehensive care. This mission is part of a broader vision of (1) a medical system that effectively addresses the unique needs of the 7,000 residents living with SCD in California and (2) empowered patients who are equipped to advocate for themselves. POSITION SUMMARY:

CWC’s Program Manager uses exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills to directly oversee all aspects of an ongoing program through implementation and preparation phases. They ensure that the program is completed to a consistently high standard, within budget, and that objectives are met on time. The program manager has strong excellent written and oral communication skills, works as part of a team, is detail oriented, superior organizational and analysis skills, and wants to make a positive impact in both the sickle cell community by establishing fundraising and development goals and planning outreach strategies.

CORE DUTIES:

1) Manages staff in the day to day performances of their job
2) Assist the Executive Director with developing, implementing and evaluating program policies, procedures, and standards
3) Accurately record minutes from weekly staff minutes and monthly planning committee meetings
4) Create sustainable systems for internal data tracking for Community Health Workers (CHWs) and the organization at large
5) Develops monthly newsletters and social media postings
6) Plans, coordinates, and monitors all CWC ́s online events
7) Promoting events, projects, research opportunities, and other programs
8) Leadership role in the planning and execution of CWC ́s Annual SCD Educational Summit
9) Identifies and addresses problems and risks within the organization
10) Providing administrative support as needed
11) Liaising with external vendors to plan and execute programing
12) Providing administrative support as needed
13) Manage and oversee CWC ́s partnership with AmeriCorps

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

14) Support CWC ́s Sr Marketing Manager to develop monthly newsletters and specific programming-related social media campaigns

15) Can be involved in the creation of marketing material (flyers, graphics, etc.)
16) Managing donations and fundraising efforts (if needed)

RESPONSIBILITIES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,

Comfortable providing complex administrative and operational support with minimal supervision;

  • Resourceful problem-solver with the ability to think ahead and take initiative;
  • Ability to work independently and also collaboratively;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in fast-paced environments;
  • Ability to prioritize tasks with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to utilize tools or design systems and processes to track data and monitor progress
  • Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge, and skills to deliver culturally-competent services and work effectively in cross- cultural situations
  • Experience handling confidential information with discretion and sensitivity;
  • Proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite, MAC iOS, and Google Drive (Docs/Sheets);
  • Excellent internet research skills and familiarity working with databases

  • QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications (REQUIRED):

  • Bachelor’s degree (required);
  • Must be advanced in Google Drive with Google Files, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Forms in its entirety.
  • Competency in Microsoft Suite, Pages
  • Ability to organize a daily workload by the organization (Cayenne Wellness Center and The Machao Orphanage Foundation) and priorities;
  • Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment;
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision- making skills;
  • Proven experience in program management

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in a health or business-related field (preferred)
  • Graphic design and marketing skills
  • Nonprofit fundraising
  • A deep understanding of public health, project management, or nonprofit operations
  • Preferred two to five years of experience in the public, nonprofit, or corporate settings
  • Knowledge of Sickle Cell Disease

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 per hour
