Job Description

The sales team is a collaborative and development focused team that cares about, supports, and learns from each other. The Account Manager position for WorldStrides is responsible for the selling of educational tours to qualified or experienced Program Leaders, as well as the inheritance and relationship of an established base of current clients. The Account Manager will be expected to uphold consistent and competitive sales numbers, retain and resell their business base, as well as garnering referrals and closing new leads.

What You will do as an Account Manager:

  • Develops strong relationships with all Program Leaders upon selling or inheriting the account. Responds to inquiries or requests promptly via phone or email, engages personally with Program Leaders to determine long and short term needs, problem solves quickly and creatively on behalf of Program Leaders.
  • Consistently maintains phone outreach to existing and new customers to maintain sales goals.
  • Solicits new clients by prospecting past travelers, answering direct sales calls and following up on new sales leads.
  • Meets or exceeds all goal expectations regarding the expected number of sign-ups per sales season while maintaining the appropriate level of resold business.
  • Resells Program Leaders on future tours and inherits new clients that have been closed by Program Consultants.
  • Works effectively and in tandem with Program Management, Program Associates and Financial Service Representatives as well as any other colleague within WorldStrides.
  • Educates self on all relevant tours and all brands supported. Comprehends the student travel industry with interest to learn more regarding our competition as it compares to each brand that is supported.
  • Supports all policies and procedures and overall business strategies of WorldStrides.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

Salary

  • Base Salary: $44,000 - $46,000 per year (Commission-Eligible)
  • Total On-target Earnings (OTE): $55,000 - $60,000 per year. Please note that the actual compensation may vary based on experience and performance.

  • Proficient in computer skills and able to learn new technologies with appropriate support and training
  • Ability to balance customer service expectations with business considerations.
  • Experience in a sales and/or customer relationship management and/or customer service environment (including restaurants) a plus.
  • College degree preferred or 2-3 years sales and/or customer service experience.
  • A love for traveling and belief in the value of travel in helping students understand the world.
  • Adaptable to frequently changing systems and workloads, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
